Working to Your Schedule

Cleaning is one activity inside a larger schedule, and it only works if it is sequenced against the real trade calendar rather than an ideal one. We plan around when finishing trades will actually be done and flag sequencing risks early rather than discovering them on job day.

Where areas complete progressively, we work from a zone map agreed with the superintendent so finished space can be released while work continues elsewhere.

Following Site Rules

We follow the site-specific safety and access instructions supplied by the contractor or owner — PPE requirements, restricted areas, escort procedures, containment expectations, badging, and approved work hours.

Providing these with the scope lets us plan the work around them properly instead of adapting on arrival.

Communication During the Job

A single point of contact who can answer scope questions keeps crews productive. Questions come up — whether a room is in scope, whether protection should be removed, whether a trade is returning — and waiting for a decision costs time that was priced into the schedule.

If conditions on site differ materially from what was described when the job was scoped, we raise it at the time rather than at the invoice.

Handling Change

Scope changes are normal on construction projects. Additional areas, changed finishes, or an accelerated date can usually be accommodated, but they should be agreed in writing before the work is performed so there is no dispute later.

Documentation

We can provide documentation of the cleaning scope performed for your closeout package. Requirements vary by project, so tell us what your file needs early.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you coordinate directly with our superintendent?
Yes — that is the normal arrangement. A single named contact with scope authority works best.
Can you work outside normal hours?
Often yes. Occupied buildings and operating businesses frequently require after-hours or weekend work, which we plan into the schedule.
What if the scope changes mid-job?
Raise it with our lead. Changes are usually accommodated, but they should be agreed in writing before the work is done.
Do general contractors hire final cleaning companies?
Yes. On most commercial projects the general contractor carries final cleaning as a subcontracted scope and coordinates it through the superintendent against the turnover date. Developers and construction managers also contract it directly.
